Adele celebrates 34th birthday; Amber Heard returns to the witness stand
Today’s Social Buzz is packed full of so many exciting celebrity stories that we were at a loss as to where to start, but, start we must! With the weekend looming, it’s time to kick back, relax and read about what exactly those in the spotlight have been getting up to in the past 24 hours…
Adele celebrates her birthday with a social media snap
Taking to her Instagram, world-renowned British singer Adele said: “What a difference a year makes!” Seemingly excited to be turning 34 and entering a new, happier chapter in her life, she said she has had “so many lessons, so many blessings to be grateful for.”
This comes after Adele went through the breakdown of her marriage, which actually played out mostly privately rather than in public.
Later this month (May 2022), Adele will find out if she has won the Ivor Novello awards for Songwriter of the Year and Best Song Musically and Lyrically, after being nominated in both of the prestigious categories. We wish her all the best of luck!

Amber Heard took to the witness stand in her trial against Johnny Depp yesterday (May 5th, 2022), claiming that there was a point in the relationship when Depp sexually assaulted her with a bottle, during a particularly nasty bout of domestic violence in Australia.
Speaking to the jury, she said: “I could feel this pressure on my pubic bone” but she “couldn’t feel pain”, before claiming she didn’t know “how that ended” but remembered making it to the bathroom, “retching”, before losing control of her bladder.
Heard said that she also saw dried blood on the walls and what looked like her name written into it. Depp has previously denied all claims of physical and sexual violence against Heard. The trial continues.

The Conservatives have lost key London councils to Labour overnight, with the Tories suffering some big losses across England in the local election results that have come in so far. Conservative council leaders have already started laying the blame for these losses firmly at the door of Number 10 Downing Street and the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Still, it’s not been as good of a night for the Labour Party as some would expect, when they are going up against a government in power who have been found to have broken the law, been dishonest and, taken the public for fools.
The Boris Johnson show, shows no sign of slowing down just yet. What will it take to get him out of power? We’ll – unfortunately – have to stay tuned.

Speaking to The Guardian to celebrate the release of his new album, musician Jack Harlow has spoken out about the fight LGBTQ+ hip hop artists still face when it comes to homophobia and other forms of bigotry.
He explained: “The totally inappropriate reaction to him [Lil Nas X] lets you know that we still have some progress to be made, and you hear it in passing; there’s still some homophobia going on. But he’s taking the hit that artists won’t have to take in the future. That’s what makes him a hero.”
Harlow’s new record, Come Home The Kids Miss You, is out now.
