Second person dies after three-vehicle Inverness crash
A second person has been confirmed to have died after a three-vehicle crash near Inverness.
Chris Haycock was driving a Tesla that collided with a Citroen Dispatch van and a heavy goods vehicle on the A96 on Monday.
The 53-year-old was taken to Raigmore Hospital but died on Wednesday.
Helen Booth, a passenger in the Tesla, died in hospital on Monday.
A third passenger in the Tesla, a 23-year-old man, was released after assessment.
The 37-year-old man driving the van was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The 69-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.
Police closed the road for several hours following the incident at Redhill shortly after 12:10 on Monday.
An investigation is ongoing and officers have urged any witnesses to contact them.
Sgt Calum MacAulay said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or anyone with information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch."
