Troye Sivan Mellet was born on 5 June 1995, in Johannesburg, South Africa, of Jewish descent. Troye is an actor, singer/songwriter, and YouTuber, becoming known since being cast in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in 2009 as a young Wolverine. He was also a part of the “Spud” film trilogy. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

He performed with Guy Sebastian – “Australian Idol” winner – and would later make it to the finals of “StarSearch 2007”. The following year, he released his first EP entitled “Dare to Dream”, and continued to make music releases on his YouTube channel. In 2013, he signed with EMI Australia, and in the following year released an EP entitled “TRXYE” which debuted in the number 1 spot on iTunes, and reached the 5th spot of the Billboard 200 – his lead single “Happy Little Pill” would become very popular too. In September 2015, he released another EP entitled “Wild” which served as an introduction to his debut studio album “Blue Neighborhood”.
For acting, Sivan started out on stage in a production of “Oliver!” in 2007. After gaining a bit of recognition there, he was cast in the short film “Bertrand the Terrible”, and this continued with him being cast as the young James Howlett/Wolverine in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” – his videos on YouTube helped him get noticed for the part. In 2009, he successfully auditioned for “Spud” which is based on a novel of the same name; the film would gain numerous nominations, and Sivan continued on to star in the next two “Spud” films.
Troye first started posting on YouTube in 2007 but never really updated it until 2012 when he decided to start regularly posting video blogs, or vlogs. After posting regularly, he got 27,000 subscribers and slowly increased this to four million in 2016. According to YouTube, his channel is the third most subscribed in Australia; he often works with other YouTubers such as Tyler Oakley.
For his personal life, it is known that Sivan draws influence from various artists such as Lorde, Taylor Swift, and Michael Jackson. His music has been categorized with bits of EDM comparable to that of his influences. Aside from that, he is openly gay as announced on his YouTube account in 2013. He also has a mild form of Marfan syndrome.
